The Team
Any organisation is only be good as their people. We at Malvina House Hotel believe that the team are an extended family and each individual endeavours to provide through effort and commitment the service and hospitality you expect to receive.
Carl Stroud – General Manager
Carl has managed the Malvina House Hotel for over 20 years and therefore has a wealth of knowledge and professionalism. During his tenure, the hotel has undergone significant transformation—changing ownership, more than doubling in size, and expanding its offerings to include a cinema and dedicated event space. Carl has a passion for hospitality and believes in a hand on approach and you will regularly see him working along side the staff during service and conversing with guests.
Karin Le Roux – Assistant Manager
Karin joined the team in September 2021 and brings over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Her background includes managing a guest lodge set within a farm and wildlife reserve in South Africa, running a charming country house hotel with its own wine and pomegranate farm, and operating a boutique guest house. Karin’s approach to hospitality is deeply genuine—she truly welcomes guests from the heart.
John Elliott- Head Chef
John started with the Malvina in February 2026, brining a wealth of experience from working within kitchen environments in the Uk and Australia, Vietnam, Cambodia and onboard luxury cruise ships. John is passionate about crafting dishes that not only reflect flavours from around the world but also celebrate the very best local produce available on the island.
Farzan Fawzar – Cinema and Events Operator
Farzan joined the hotel in 2022 as a restaurant server, bringing valuable experience from working in four- and five-star hotels across the Middle East. In 2023, he was promoted to oversee the cinema and event venue. Farzan is dedicated and driven, delivering a high standard of service while ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable experience.
Belinda Allen – Head Housekeeper
Belinda and her housekeeping team are the ‘hidden gems’ of the Malvina House Hotel. They work hard behind the scenes in-order to ensure that your room feels like home and that your stay is as comfortable and as possible.
